It possessed many new features such as a towing capacity of more than 10,000 pounds, a payload capacity of over 2000 pounds, and a new 5.7-liter V8 engine.

The 2007 Tundra is available in three body-styles: the Regular Cab, Double Cab, and CrewMax. Each is available in three sizes and three bed lengths. The 2007 Tundra offers two-wheel drive (2WD) and four-wheel drive (4WD) options and a choice of 2-door or 4- door.

The Double Cab is a large extended cab with four doors that are hinged forward, while the Tundra CrewMax is an extra-large crew cab. Engine and Performance
Choice of three potent engines
The 2007 Toyota Tundra offers a choice of three potent engines. The Tundra Regular Cab and standard-bed Double Cab come standard with a 4.0-liter DOHC EFI V6 engine that produces 236 hp and 266 lb-ft of torque.

The long-bed Double Cab and CrewMax derive power from a standard 4.7-liter DOHC EFI V8 engine that generates 271 hp and 313 lb-ft of torque. This engine is optional on the Tundra Regular Cab and standard-bed Double Cab.

A highly potent 5.7-liter DOHC EFI V8 engine that delivers 381 hp and 401 lb-ft of torque is optional across all the trim options.

The Regular Cab, Double Cab, and CrewMax are coupled to a standard 5-speed automatic transmission (AT) with overdrive, but they are all available with the option of a 6-speed AT with overdrive.

The Regular Cab, Double Cab as well as the CrewMax ride on independent coil-spring high-mounted double-wishbone with stabilizer bar front suspension and on live axle with trapezoidal multi-leaf rear suspension. All three trims feature ventilated disc brakes in the front as well as the rear.

A properly equipped 2WD Tundra Regular Cab can tow up to 10,800 pounds. The maximum Gross Combined Weight Rating (the total weight of the vehicle, including trailer, cargo, passengers and fuel load) of Tundra is 16,000 pounds.

Walk-around
Looks that impress
The 2007 Toyota Tundra’s front fascia is marked by a dominant grille, which comes in chrome or black, depending on the trim level, and a remarkably sculpted hood.

Headlights are set into the fenders and separated from the bumper. The front bumper may be Black Resin, Chrome Steel or Color-Keyed Resin, depending on the trim level, while the rear bumper may be Black Steel or Chrome Steel.

The profile is less impressive; a slight notch along the lower door panels wraps simple fender flares. The Regular Cab and Double Cab look disproportionate with the optional towing mirrors that are very large.

The rear of the Tundra is conventionally pickup-styled. It is devoid of any distinct styling cues. However, backup lights and taillights are the only rear features that impress.

The 2007 Toyota Tundra is available in three sizes and three bed-lengths to suit different requirements. It comes in three different lengths, 209.8 inches, 228.7 inches, and 246.7 inches. Depending on the model’s length, its wheelbase may also vary from 126.8 inches to 145.7 inches or 164.6 inches. Regular Cabs and Double Cabs are available with two bed-size options, either a 6.5-foot or 8-foot bed, while the CrewMax is offered with only a 5-foot bed.

Big door handles, which may be Black or Chrome-finished depending on the trim level, are secured in a deep depression, which makes for an easy grip. Outside mirrors may be Black or Chrome-finished and manual or power-adjustable, depending on the trim level.

A tailgate assist is standard across all the trim options. The fuel tank capacity of the Tundra is 26.4 gallons. Fog lamps may be standard or part of an option package, available on different trims.
