What’s New In The 2023 Toyota Sequoia
Redesigned With A New Modern And Muscular Look
In its third generation, the 2023 Toyota Sequoia received a redesign. Toyota gave the large SUV a new, luxurious interior design, an upgraded infotainment system, and a robust suite of driver-assistive features. Best of all, the automaker gave the massive SUV a hybrid powertrain for speedy acceleration, more towing capacity, and better fuel economy.
The Tracy Toyota team is excited to showcase the new 2023 Toyota Sequoia configurations to shoppers who need a large, three-row SUV with all the bells and whistles for drivers in Tracy, CA.
Only Available With A Hybrid Powertrain
The 2023 Toyota Sequoia engine features the iForce MAX Hybrid powertrain that includes a twin-turbo 3.4-liter V6 with an electric motor. The combination delivers 437 horsepower and 583 lb-ft of torque for quick acceleration – with a 5.6-second zero-to-60 time. The hybrid powertrain includes a ten-speed automatic transmission for smooth shifting.
The Sequoia comes standard with rear-wheel drive, but drivers can add four-wheel drive to most trims. With the hybrid powertrain, the EPA-estimated fuel rating is 21/24, which is more common in compact and midsize SUVs.
While the vehicle named for the ancient California trees has off-road capability and 8.7 inches of ground clearance, it’s better suited for dirt trails and pavement than rock crawling or steep mountain trails. With the proper equipment, the Sequoia can tow between 8,980 and 9,520 pounds, making it sufficient for hauling weekend toys.
New Infotainment Features And Upgraded Safety Technology
The 2023 Toyota Sequoia interior features three rows of seats with room for seven or eight depending on the configurations. The full-size SUV begins with the Sequoia SR5 time with cloth upholstery, heated front seats, bench seats in the second and third rows, and tri-zone automatic climate control.
The new infotainment system features an 8.0-inch infotainment system with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, SiriusXM Satellite Radio, Bluetooth, a Wi-Fi hotspot, navigation, and eight speakers. The Sequoia also has several USB ports, LED headlights, and a moonroof.
The redesigned Sequoia also gets the Toyota Safety Sense 2.5 suite of features with Forward Collision Warning with Pedestrian and Cyclist Detection, Forward Automatic Emergency Braking, Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Departure Warning, Lane Keep Assist, Traffic Sign Recognition, and Automatic High-Beam Headlights. Toyota also adds a Surround-View Parking Camera System, Front and Rear Parking Sensors, Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, and Blind Spot Monitoring.
Additional 2023 Toyota Sequoia trim levels include the Limited, Platinum, TRD Pro, and Capstone. The standard features in the TRD Pro include standard four-wheel drive, 18-inch wheels with 33-inch all-terrain tires, a skid plate, Fox shock absorbers, faux leather upholstery with camouflage accents, and second-row captain’s chairs.
Drivers who want leather upholstery must choose the Platinum or Capstone trims, which also include retractable running boards and a head-up display.
